Heavy snow, ice and brutal cold are expected to make this winter storm a potentially life-threatening weather event for 35 states.

The weekend is creeping closer, and with it, a snowstorm that is projected to dump multiple inches of powder on the FOX 2 viewing area.

The first snowfall estimates are out for the winter storm expected to slam the region Sunday, and it’s looking like this could be the Lehigh Valley’s biggest snowfall in years.

Another round of snow will hit Massachusetts on Sunday and some areas could get up to 6 inches. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for most of the state from 7 a.m. Sunday through 7 a.m. Monday. Forecasters expect 2 inches to 6 inches of snow accumulation across the state,
